aMADEO AMADEO

Anthony Amadeo is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans photography, scent, collage, painting, and object-making under the umbrella of amadeo amadeo—a living archive of memory, material, and identity. Rooted in a deeply personal mythology of Italian-American heritage and East Coast working-class domesticity, Amadeo constructs sensory systems that collapse the boundaries between art, design, and ritual.

His work reinterprets the familiar—pleated pants, garden hoses, incense ash, floral slipcovers—as sculptural and olfactive codes. Each piece functions as both artifact and portal: an image, scent, or fabric becomes a vessel for collective nostalgia and individual memory. Through numbered editions, collaged journals, and “worn” works like garments and soaps, Amadeo assembles a codex of the self, refracted through the body, the home, and the street.

Often drawing from Dada, brutalism, and the visual language of family photographs and vernacular ephemera, Amadeo’s work resists categorization. His paintings evoke scent. His scents evoke architecture. His fashion evokes grief and glamour. He builds a world where the emotional weight of a summer tomato or a grandmother’s pressed blouse is as significant as any monument.

amadeo amadeo is not a brand. It is an ecosystem—a generational, sensorial, and conceptual practice grounded in intimacy and excess. The work may be worn, sprayed, framed, or burned, but it always returns to one idea: memory as design, and design as devotion.
